Navy Day, Visakhapatnam is a festival that celebrates the glory of the Indian naval force. Since the head office of the Eastern Naval is located in Visakhapatnam, this festival is held on a huge scale in this city. The celebrations of Navy Day is an inevitable part of the Annual Celebrations of the city. During this festival the naval officers display the various weapons and ships previously used in various warfares. There are also displays of the latest additions to the naval armory, including ships and weapons that are to be used in future wars. 
Naval processions are held and the entire city of Vizag is involved in the merriments of the Navy Day. Innumerable people assemble on the Beach road in order to see the naval troops march away to glory. It is a festival when homage and reverence is especially paid to the entire troop of the naval army. The charming festival of the Navy Day is celebrated with great vigor and exuberance by all the citizens of the city.
The Beach Road of the city becomes a hub of activities on the Navy Day. Thousands throng the beach-side street in order to witness the display of the Navy ships. An added attraction of the Navy Day celebrations is the opportunity given to the common people to enter some of the ships, a privilege extended only on this particular day. A number of cultural events add color to the celebrations.
